Overview

The overarching aim of the Business and Management program is to support students to acquire and develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviors necessary to work effectively, confidently, and responsibly within a wide range of business organizations and corporate functions. It provides students with an excellent grounding in all aspects of business and management, incorporating knowledge from a range of disciplines such as accounting, economics, finance, HRM, marketing, and sustainability.

These disciplines and philosophies have been combined within the degree to provide students with a broad and coherent program that provides advanced general education for business. While providing students with a background in all areas of business, the program is designed to enable students to specialize in particular areas to tailor their studies to reflect their personal and future career interests. The program also offers students to extend their period of study by one year by either undertaking a work placement or overseas study opportunity.

Entry Requirements

We welcome applicants from a wide range of backgrounds. If you have recently been in education or are returning after a long time, we would be more than happy to consider your application on an individual basis.

Application-based on previous qualifications:

If you are applying based on your previous qualifications, you will usually have achieved a minimum of 90 credits from a Level 3 qualification such as A-Levels or BTECs

Mature learners (Aged 21+)

If you are applying as a mature learner (aged 21+) and do not have the above qualifications, you can apply via our assessment-based entry and we will consider your prior experiences (work, voluntary, life, and other experiences) that are relevant to the course.

You will be required to complete the following:

  1. Provide a Supervised Personal Statement (500 words)
  2. English Language Test (with a minimum 70% score, equivalent to IELTS 6.0)
  3. Maths Test (Score 50%)
  4. Complete a SAPE Assessment (Screening for Accreditation of Prior Experience)
  5. Applicants will also be invited to attend an Interview

Students will also be asked to attend an academic interview. Suitability for entry to our programmes can be demonstrated in several ways and is not limited to academic qualifications alone and applicants who do not meet our published entry requirements are encouraged to contact recruitment and admissions for advice.

The diverse range of modules on the program provides an opportunity for experiencing a range of teaching and learning approaches. This degree is unique within the field of business education because of its strong focus on experiential and problem-based learning, group work, and student reflection.
